About Us

Let us take a tour of the
history of
establishment of
this college. This
college was
established by the
then Secretary to
the British
Government in the
year 1906 as
recommended by
the historic Wood’s
Despatch (1854).
It got christened as
The Secondary
Training College,
and began
functioning as an
autonomous
institute conferring
its own Diploma in
Teaching. later
after getting our
freedom from the
British, as The
Government of
Maharashtra took
over it came to be
known as The
Government a
College of
Education too. It
began with Mr.
J.N.Fraser acting
as the First ever
Principal of the
college And then
on got laid the
foundation of
illustrious scholars
holding the helm
of affairs. Since
then till date there
have been change
of hand 44 times.

Cluster University in the State of
Maharashtra— Dr. Homi Bhabha
State a University, Mumbai-1 and
simultaneously owned by the
Government of Maharashtra.

two floors , which has huge airy

fulfilling all other mandatory
requirements of the NCTE Norms.

| Motto |
| The motto (Let the Learning of Guru and Disciple be bright and lustrous) is seen at the base of the Emblem, which is taken from Yajurveda (Krishna) ch.II (ii).These thoughts are symbolised in the Emblem wherein the rays of sun in the Arena of STC stand for brightening of teaching, Learning and Training process. The enlighted trainee is represented in the form of the torch flame. Our product is the torch-bearer of our Vision,Mission and Aim, who is ready to enlighten the world |
